  • Two 2-row SUVs, nearly the same length. Cadillac lists the 2027 OPTIQ at 190 inches long and the 2026 XT5 at 189.6 inches. Both seat five.
  • The XT5 carries more cargo. The 2026 XT5 lists 30 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 63 folded (Cadillac-estimated), against 26 and 57 for the 2027 OPTIQ.
  • The VISTIQ is the size step. At 205.59 inches with three rows, the 2027 VISTIQ seats up to seven and lists 80.2 cubic feet with both rear rows folded.
  • Electric or gas is the other choice. The 2027 OPTIQ and VISTIQ charge at home or on DC fast chargers. The 2026 XT5 fills up at a gas station.

Which Cadillac SUV size fits a Miami household best?

In this Cadillac SUV size comparison, five seats point to the OPTIQ or XT5. Six or seven seats point to the 3-row VISTIQ. Start with the number of people you carry most weeks, then the cargo you carry most weeks. Those two answers do more to pick the right size than any other spec. Footprint matters next, because a Miami condo garage or a tight Aventura parking deck has fixed dimensions.

All three models are on cadillac.com today. As of 10/23/2026, Cadillac lists the OPTIQ and VISTIQ as 2027 models and the XT5 as a 2026 model. This guide compares the latest year listed for each and labels the model year in every table and section. The XT4 and XT6 do not appear in the cadillac.com SUV lineup.

Is the Cadillac OPTIQ smaller than the XT5?

Not by length. Cadillac lists the 2027 OPTIQ at 190 in. and the 2026 XT5 at 189.6 in., within half an inch. On paper the two 2-row models are close. The OPTIQ has the longer wheelbase, at 116 inches against 112 for the XT5, and the XT5 has more cargo room. The OPTIQ is the lower of the two, at 64.7 inches against 66.1 inches.

Where they differ is behind the rear seats. The XT5 lists 30 cubic feet there and 63 with the seats folded. Cadillac notes those XT5 figures are Cadillac-estimated. The OPTIQ lists 26 and 57. Rear legroom favors the XT5 slightly, at 39 inches against 37.8.

How do the OPTIQ, XT5 and VISTIQ compare on size and space?

The 2027 OPTIQ and 2026 XT5 share a similar footprint. The 2027 VISTIQ is about 15.6 inches longer than the OPTIQ, with a third row. The table uses the figures each cadillac.com spec page lists. Width is the one number you cannot compare straight across. Cadillac lists the EVs with mirrors and the XT5 with mirrors folded, so we show each as labeled.

Cadillac does not list a turning circle for any of the three on these pages. If you park in a tight deck, a test drive into a similar space tells you more than a spec sheet.

When does the VISTIQ third row make sense?

When you regularly carry more than five people. The 2027 VISTIQ seats up to seven, or six with second-row captain's chairs. Cadillac offers the captain's chairs on all VISTIQ trims and makes them standard on Premium Luxury and Platinum. Third-row legroom is listed at 30.63 inches. In our view, that suits shorter trips, school runs and adding friends for dinner in Sunny Isles Beach or North Miami Beach.

Cargo is the trade-off. With all three rows up, the VISTIQ lists 15.2 cubic feet behind the third row. Fold the third row and that becomes 43 cubic feet. Fold both rear rows and it reaches 80.2. If the third row stays folded most days, the VISTIQ works like a long 2-row SUV with extra seats in reserve.

The 2026 XT5 is the gas 2-row model in this comparison, with a 2.0L Turbo or an available 3.6L V6.

If you need more room than the VISTIQ offers, see the Cadillac Escalade in Miami and the electric ESCALADE IQ.

Should you choose an electric OPTIQ or VISTIQ, or a gas XT5?

It depends on where you park overnight. Home charging suits the OPTIQ and VISTIQ. If you cannot charge at home, the gas XT5 is simpler. The 2027 OPTIQ and 2027 VISTIQ both use a J3400 North American Charging System (NACS) port. Cadillac says it supports Level 1, Level 2 and DC fast charging. Each includes a 20-foot, 7.7 kW dual-level charging cord. On a standard 3-prong outlet that cord adds up to 4 miles per hour on the OPTIQ and 3 on the VISTIQ.

Ask your building or HOA about charging before you choose an EV for a condo. The 2026 XT5 has no such question: it uses a 2.0L Turbo 4-cylinder or an available 3.6L V6, and refuels at any gas station.

At home on Level 2, the OPTIQ lists up to 36 miles of range per hour with the standard 11.5 kW onboard charger. The available 19.2 kW charger raises that to 59. The VISTIQ lists 29 and 47. On the road, cadillac.com lists access through the myCadillac app to over 250,000 public chargers in the U.S. and Canada. That includes more than 29,000 Tesla Superchargers (as listed on 10/23/2026).

For home charging, have a licensed electrician check your panel before you install a Level 2 unit. That is our advice.

Which ones offer all-wheel drive and towing?

All three offer all-wheel drive. Cadillac lists towing ratings for the OPTIQ and VISTIQ, while the XT5 offers Smart Towing with the V6. The 2027 OPTIQ comes with a single motor and rear-wheel drive on Luxury and Sport, with dual-motor all-wheel drive available. The OPTIQ-V is all-wheel drive. The 2027 VISTIQ has dual-motor all-wheel drive. On the 2026 XT5, front-wheel drive is standard on Luxury with all-wheel drive available, and the Sport has Twin Clutch Sport Control All-Wheel Drive standard.

  • 2027 OPTIQ: rated to tow up to 1,500 lbs (Cadillac-estimated). See Cadillac's towing footnote and the owner's manual.
  • 2027 VISTIQ: Cadillac lists a towing rating of 5,000 lbs. See Cadillac's towing footnote and the owner's manual, and ask about the hitch before you plan a trailer.
  • 2026 XT5: Cadillac lists Smart Towing with the 3.6L V6. Check the owner's manual for the rating.

How do you check whether a Cadillac SUV fits your Miami parking space?

Measure your space and compare it with Cadillac's published length, height and width. Then test the actual vehicle in a similar space. In Miami, Aventura or Hialeah, you may park in a condo garage, a parking deck or an older driveway. A few minutes with a tape measure prevents a surprise.

  1. Measure depth, width and clearance. Note the garage or space depth, the usable width and the lowest overhead point, such as a door, beam or sprinkler pipe.
  2. Compare with the published figures. Use the length, height and width in our table above, and remember the widths are measured differently.
  3. Leave room for doors and the liftgate. Allow space to open the front doors and to raise the liftgate, especially in a garage with a wall behind the car.
  4. Check building or HOA rules. Ask about vehicle size limits and, for an EV, about charging access.
  5. Test it in person. Ask our sales team to let you check the vehicle in a similar space during a test drive. Call 786-708-8302 to set it up.

Which Cadillac SUV has a third row?

Is the Cadillac OPTIQ all-wheel drive?

It can be. The 2027 OPTIQ Luxury and Sport come with a single motor and rear-wheel drive, and dual-motor all-wheel drive is available. The OPTIQ-V is all-wheel drive. The EPA rates the single-motor version at 317 miles of range and the dual-motor version at 303 miles.

Can the OPTIQ and VISTIQ use Tesla Superchargers?

Cadillac lists access through the myCadillac app. Both 2027 models use a J3400 North American Charging System port. As listed on cadillac.com on 10/23/2026, the app covers more than 29,000 Tesla Superchargers. It is part of over 250,000 public chargers in the U.S. and Canada. Check the app for current locations.

Can the OPTIQ use a charger without a NACS plug?

Yes, with the right adapter. The 2027 OPTIQ uses a J3400 NACS port, and Cadillac's OPTIQ page says chargers with other connectors can be used with a GM-approved adapter. Ask our sales team which adapter applies to your vehicle, and check the owner's manual before using one.

Why are the model years different in this comparison?

Because cadillac.com lists different years today. As of 10/23/2026, it shows the OPTIQ and VISTIQ as 2027 models and the XT5 as a 2026 model. We compare the latest year listed for each and label the model year in every table and section. Check the numbers for the exact model year you are shopping.

Are the XT4 and XT6 still sold new?

Do I need a trailer hitch to tow with a VISTIQ?

See Cadillac's towing footnote and the owner's manual, and ask our sales team before you plan a trip with a trailer.

It depends on the charger. On Level 2, Cadillac lists up to 29 miles of range per hour with the 11.5 kW onboard charger.
