  • Warranty repairs go to a Cadillac dealership. Cadillac's EV warranty booklet says to take the vehicle to an authorized Cadillac dealership within the warranty period and request the repairs.
  • The battery has its own limited warranty. Cadillac lists an 8-year/100,000-mile battery limited warranty for its EVs (cadillac.com, as listed on 10/22/2026). The 2025 booklet adds "whichever comes first."
  • Maintenance is light but real. The 2027 LYRIQ owner's manual recommends tire rotation and required services every 7,500 miles, plus time-based fluid and filter items.
  • Heat matters to the battery. Above 90 °F, the manual says to plug in the LYRIQ to maximize high voltage battery life when it sits for long periods.

Where should you take a Cadillac LYRIQ for service in Miami?

For Cadillac LYRIQ service in Miami, Cadillac's 2025 EV booklet sends warranty repairs to an authorized Cadillac dealership. Maintenance follows the manual. Cadillac's Electric Vehicle Limited Warranty booklet for 2025 models is clear on warranty work. To obtain warranty repairs, it says to take the vehicle to an authorized Cadillac dealership within the warranty period and request the needed repairs. The same booklet says covered warranty repairs, including towing, parts and labor, are made at no charge.

Cadillac also asks owners to return to the selling dealer for warranty repairs. If that would be a significant inconvenience, the booklet says an authorized Cadillac dealer can make the repairs. If a dealer cannot do a repair because of special tool and training requirements, Cadillac points owners to its Customer Assistance Offices.

Ocean Cadillac's service department is at 17800 Ipco Rd in Miami. Our service center page lists tire rotations, brake repairs, and AC and heating system maintenance. It also notes an onsite parts center. Ask our advisors whether your visit is maintenance or a warranty request, or call 786-708-8318.

What maintenance does a Cadillac LYRIQ need, and how often?

Tire rotation and required services every 7,500 miles, plus a few time-based items for filters, fluids and the cooling system. The LYRIQ is fully electric, so its schedule is built around tires, filters, fluids and inspections. The 2027 LYRIQ owner's manual says the tire rotation and required services are the owner's responsibility. It recommends having your dealer perform them every 7,500 miles. Those visits include a tire rotation, a Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection and lubrication of body components.

The manual calls the first tire rotation the most important. If you notice unusual tire wear, it says to rotate the tires as soon as possible and check inflation pressure. If unusual wear continues after a rotation, check the wheel alignment. If equipped, the Tire Rotation Monitor tracks your mileage and alerts you when a rotation is due.

The Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection covers items such as a recall check, a 12-volt battery test, and tire pressure and tread. It also includes a brake system check and a leak inspection of the power electronics cooling system and electric drive unit. The manual notes that some items may not apply to your vehicle or region.

What does the Cadillac LYRIQ battery warranty cover?

Cadillac lists an 8-year/100,000-mile battery limited warranty for its EVs, separate from the vehicle's Bumper-to-Bumper coverage. On its Electric Life page, Cadillac says its EVs come with an 8-year/100,000-mile battery limited warranty (as listed on 10/22/2026). The 2025 EV booklet lists Bumper-to-Bumper coverage for 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. The full terms sit in the warranty booklet for your model year. The 2025 Cadillac Electric Vehicle booklet spells out the battery coverage in one sentence.

The same booklet says that when the battery needs service due to a defect in materials or workmanship, Cadillac will repair or replace it. Cadillac may use new or refurbished components, at its discretion. Coverage begins on the date the vehicle is first delivered or put in use.

The warranty covers Cadillac vehicles originally sold, registered and normally operated in the United States. Cadillac provides it to the original owner and any subsequent owners during the warranty period. That matters if you buy a used LYRIQ that is still within its terms.

Does the LYRIQ battery warranty cover capacity loss?

For 2025 Cadillac EVs, yes, within limits: the booklet covers capacity that falls below 75% of its original value during the warranty period. Cadillac's booklet starts with a plain fact. Like all batteries, the energy the high voltage battery can store decreases with time and miles driven. Some capacity loss is expected. The booklet then sets the condition in one sentence.

"The battery will be replaced/repaired if the capacity falls below 75% of its original value during the warranty period, as determined by a certified dealer, with a battery appropriate for the age and mileage of the vehicle." That wording is from the 2025 Cadillac Electric Vehicle booklet. Check the booklet for your LYRIQ's model year.

The 2027 manual notes it is normal for capacity and range to decrease with age. If you see a change that worries you, book a visit and ask our advisors about it.

Do you have to use a Cadillac dealer to keep your LYRIQ warranty?

Not for routine maintenance. The FTC says you don't have to use the dealer to keep your warranty, but warranty repairs follow the warranty's rules. The Federal Trade Commission says, "You don't have to use the dealer for repairs or maintenance to keep your warranty in effect." It adds one condition: "If the warranty says that the work will be done for free," the dealer or manufacturer "can make you use repair facilities it chooses." Cadillac's 2025 EV booklet says to take the vehicle to an authorized Cadillac dealership for warranty repairs.

Records protect you either way. The FTC advises keeping service records and receipts to show you've maintained your vehicle. Cadillac's booklet agrees, noting that receipts matter if a question arises about whether a problem came from missed maintenance or a defect. Keep every work order, wherever you service the car.

The FTC says your warranty stays in effect if you use aftermarket or recycled parts. The exception is when a defective or incorrectly installed part damages a covered part. The manufacturer or dealer must prove that before denying coverage. You can order parts through our parts department.

What can put a LYRIQ repair outside the warranty?

Skipped maintenance, environmental damage, uninstalled software updates and unapproved charging adapters are four exclusions in the 2025 EV booklet. Cadillac's 2025 EV booklet lists these situations in plain terms, along with the rule that maintenance is the owner's expense.

  • Maintenance is the owner's expense. The booklet lists items such as brake pads, coolants and fluids, filters, tire rotation and wheel alignment.
  • Missed maintenance. Damage caused by not following the recommended maintenance intervals, or not using proper fluids, is not covered.
  • Environmental damage. The booklet excludes damage from causes including salt from sea air, water or floods, windstorms and lightning.
  • Over-the-Air software updates. Owners must install Cadillac updates within 45 days of availability. Damage from not installing them is not covered.
  • Charging adapters. Incompatible charging methods, or an adapter not sold or approved by General Motors, can damage the battery and are not covered.

The 2027 manual lists driving mainly in heavy city traffic in hot weather as a severe service condition.

If you are unsure whether a repair is covered, ask before the work starts. Ask our advisors about the vehicle's warranty position and which items are maintenance and which are a warranty request. Ask about open recalls at the same visit, or check your VIN with our recall lookup or at NHTSA.

How do Miami heat, sun and storms affect LYRIQ care?

The 2027 LYRIQ manual says to plug in above 90 °F when the vehicle sits, and that a vehicle cover can reduce sun loading. South Florida is hot and humid, with strong sun, heavy rain and a hurricane season. The 2027 manual says not to leave the vehicle in temperature extremes for long periods without driving it or plugging it in. Above 90 °F, it says to plug in the vehicle to maximize high voltage battery life.

GM recommends charging the high voltage battery to 80% or less unless your drive needs a full charge. It also suggests avoiding letting the battery fall below 20%, if possible. On sun, the manual says: "Your dealer offers a vehicle cover, which can reduce sun loading on the vehicle and improve high voltage battery life."

Above 90 °F, the 2027 LYRIQ owner's manual says to plug in a parked vehicle to maximize high voltage battery life.

Two more manual items are worth noting. The manual lists driving mainly in heavy city traffic in hot weather as severe service. Under severe service, it adds an electric drive unit fluid change every 45,000 miles. The manual also asks for an underbody flush at least twice a year, with no high pressure spray at high voltage connectors, cables or vents. High pressure can damage the seals and battery components.

Storms are the other local factor. The 2025 EV booklet lists flood and windstorm damage among the exclusions, so check your insurance before hurricane season. LYRIQ owners in Miami, Miami Gardens, Hialeah, North Miami Beach and Aventura can book service at 17800 Ipco Rd.

What should LYRIQ owners never do themselves?

Never service high voltage battery components yourself. The manual says only a trained technician should inspect, test or replace the high voltage battery. The 2027 manual is direct: never try to do your own service on high voltage battery components. It warns that exposure to high voltage can cause shock, burns and even death. High voltage cable and wiring has an orange covering. Do not probe, tamper with, cut or modify it.

After a moderate to severe crash, flood, fire or other event, the manual says the vehicle should be inspected as soon as possible. Until then, store it outside at least 50 feet from any structure or anything that can burn. Contact Cadillac Customer Assistance as soon as possible to determine whether an inspection is needed.

The manual also covers a battery overheating warning while driving. Its steps read: "If driving, pull over as soon as possible to a safe location at least 50 feet (15 m) away from any structure or anything that may burn. Park your vehicle, set the parking brake, and turn the vehicle off. Open a window or door for ventilation. Remove the remote key and move yourself and others to a safe, upwind location away from the vehicle. Do not return to the vehicle or attempt to restart or drive the vehicle. Call emergency services and inform them that an electrical vehicle high voltage battery is overheating. Never attempt to put out a vehicle fire."

Cadillac LYRIQ service questions, answered

Short answers to common questions about servicing a Cadillac LYRIQ in Miami.

Questions about your LYRIQ? Call our service team at 786-708-8318.

Does a Cadillac LYRIQ need oil changes?

No. Cadillac's Electric Life page lists no oil changes among the points of owning its EVs. The 2027 LYRIQ owner's manual schedule centers on tire rotation and required services every 7,500 miles. Time-based items cover the cabin air filter, brake fluid, air conditioning desiccant and coolant circuits.

How can I check my LYRIQ's battery capacity?

Look for the Maximum Capacity display. The 2027 manual says that, if equipped, it shows the capacity of the high voltage battery compared to when it was new. The manual adds that it is normal for capacity and range to decrease with age. If a reading concerns you, note it and bring it to your next service visit.

Is the Cadillac EV battery warranty transferable?

Yes, within its terms. Cadillac's 2025 EV warranty booklet says the warranty is provided to the original owner and any subsequent owners during the warranty period. It applies to Cadillac vehicles originally sold, registered and normally operated in the United States. Check the booklet for your model year when buying a used LYRIQ.

When does the LYRIQ warranty start?

Cadillac's 2025 EV booklet says the warranty period for all coverages begins on the date the vehicle is first delivered or put in use. It ends at the expiration of the applicable coverage period. For a used LYRIQ, the in-service date sets how much coverage remains, so ask for it with the vehicle's records.

Can I use any charging adapter with my LYRIQ?

Be careful. Cadillac's 2025 EV booklet warns about incompatible charging methods and adapters not sold or approved by General Motors. It says they could damage the battery, and that damage is not covered. The 2027 manual says the same about adapters not sold, provided or approved by GM. Check an adapter's approval before you use it.

What happens if I skip an Over-the-Air software update?

Cadillac's EV booklet makes owners responsible for installing Cadillac Over-the-Air software updates within 45 days of availability. Damage that results from not installing them is not covered. Install updates when the vehicle prompts you, and ask our advisors if one will not complete.

What should I do if my LYRIQ was in a flood?

Treat it as a high voltage safety issue. The 2027 manual says a vehicle damaged by a flood should be inspected as soon as possible. Until then, store it outside at least 50 feet from any structure or anything that can burn, and contact Cadillac Customer Assistance. The 2025 EV booklet also lists flood damage as not covered by the warranty.

What does Cadillac EV roadside assistance include?

For 2025 Cadillac EVs, the booklet lists towing for 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Non-tow services run 6 years or 70,000 miles, whichever comes first. The 2027 manual covers emergency tows from a public road or highway. When out of charge, Roadside tows to the nearest charging station or your home, whichever is closest. Roadside Assistance is not part of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, and Cadillac may change or discontinue it without notice.

How should I store a LYRIQ for a long trip away?

For long-term storage, the 2027 manual says to keep the high voltage battery state of charge at 30%. It lists further steps in its storage section. In heat above 90 °F, it also says to plug in a vehicle that will sit for long periods. Read the full storage section before you leave, and plan around hurricane season.

Do the service specials apply to a LYRIQ?

Check each offer. As posted on 10/22/2026, our service specials page listed an Oil and Filter Change Package and a Check Engine Light Inspection. Neither applies to the LYRIQ. Offers change and carry their own terms and end dates. Ask our advisors which current offers apply to your LYRIQ before your visit.
